My Favourite Dynamics 365 Portals Links

If you’re just getting started with Dynamics 365 Portals, it can be a bit tricky to track down documentation, release notes, and other useful resources.

Here are some of my favourite Dynamics 365 Portals links. My goal is to keep this up to date over time; if you think I’ve missed some important ones, let me know in the comments and I’ll add it to the list.

Adxstudio Community Site

https://community.adxstudio.com/
By far the best resource for Portals, this is the official documentation from Adxstudio.  The forums are read-only, but still a great resource.  However, if you’re working with the new Microsoft version, take everything with a grain of salt; lots of things are the same, but there are more features described on this site then you’ll have access to.

Colin Vermander’s Blog

http://colinvermander.com/
Colin is the Technical Director for Services Delivery with Adoxio Business Solutions (the company founded by the same people who originally built Adxstudio Portals).  His blog is a great resource for getting the latest information about what’s going on with Portals, as well as some fantastic technical how-to articles aimed at developers.

Administrator’s Guide to Portal Capabilities

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics/crm-setup-and-administration/administrator-s-guide-to-portal-capabilities-for-microsoft-dynamics-365.aspx
Microsoft’s documentation for Portal capabilities.  I typically find the downloadable PDF version of the Administrator’s Guide (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=798278) to be the most useful.

Dynamics 365 Portals Release Notes

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3181516
This page lists all the releases for the Microsoft version of the portals.  A great resource if you want to keep up to date on what’s new, or what’s been fixed.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Roadmap

https://roadmap.dynamics.com/
If you interested in what coming up next with Portals, check out the Dynamics 365 Roadmap.  This site covers all of Dynamics 365, but a quick search for the word “Portal” will narrow down the results.  It’s great for seeing what’s new, what’s been previously released, and what they are working on.
